Finally made it!

After quite a few tries, I am pleased to say that I finally got one of my pieces into the Masters' Division of the Central Adirondack Art Show at Old Forge, NY.  The new facility is just beautiful and I am always proud to have my work on display in their show.  Here is the Masters' Division piece.  I named this one "Showstopper" because of the way this bright teapot steals the spotlight from the other items on display.  Yes, that is my real stove, a vintage beauty that I cook and bake at all the time.  Hope you enjoy this piece.

It's the National!!

I am proud to announce that two of my pieces have been accepted for the 77th Annual Cooperstown Art Association's National Juried Art Exhibition.  One accepted piece is already shown in the header of my blog - "Teapot Rising"  and the other is a new larger piece I named "Time after Time".  The show will run from July 13 - August 17 and is located in the beautiful Village Library Building on the corner of Fair and Main Street, diagonally across from the National Baseball Hall of Fame.  Here is a link for further information on the many ongoing events http://www.cooperstownart.com/national.html 

A Cooperstown Regional Prize!

I am excited to say that at the 2012 Cooperstown Art Association "Essential Art" Regional Juried Art Show, my piece, "Offload", received the Linda M. Clark Memorial Prize for artwork depicting rural life.  The show runs from May 4th through June 1. http://www.cooperstownart.com/current.html  It feels great to have this favorite piece honored by the jurors!

An Oldie but Goodie

Three of my pieces were just juried in to the 14th Annual Juried Adirondack Artists' Guild show in Saranac Lake, NY. I decided to enter a special favorite, "Teapot Rising" and it won First Prize! This one is the image I have on my business cards. My horse harness arrangment, seen in the archives below, also was accepted, as well as a new still life of vintage coffee cans and old milk bottle, "Rise and Shine" which I have not had photographed yet. Art de Cure Gallery

Two favorite oldies will be on display at the Art de Cure Gallery. Art de Cure is a unique concept which brings art to an audience not likely to explore art galleries. Galleries are housed in medical practices and the work of regional artists is on display. The host practice chooses the charity that will benefit and Art de Cure curates the shows. The cause for this current show will be the American Diabetes Association and works will be on display from December 9, 2011 - April 6, 2012. My floral piece is titled "Tracery" and the postcard tribute is titled "A Moment for Mucha".

Back to Arkell!

Two new pieces were juried into the annual Arkell Museum at Canajoharie Library Juried Show. These pieces were done mainly in colored pencil but with pastel pencil accents for the light values - something I am experimenting with these days. Juried Show in beautiful Lake Placid

I have two pieces in the Lake Placid Center for the Arts 2011 Adirondack Juried Show. "Whistlestop" and "Sunrise Diner" are two oldie, but favorite pieces. Sunrise Diner is in Jim Thorpe, PA, (in case you are wondering) and the whistlestop bottle lives on the window sill in my dining room with other light-catching friends who are constantly being rearranged and added to as my fancy dictates.
