New Larger Pics

I recently completed two large (for me) drawings. They were SO time -consuming. I have some ideas for other larger scale pieces, but it is hard to change from my usual size when they take even longer.

Cooperstown X2

I am very pleased to have "Treasure Trove", my silver spoons drawing, juried into the Cooperstown Art Association's Annual National Exhibition. I feel very lucky indeed, as 531 images were submitted and only 125 chosen. Very exciting but also humbling.

I was also very pleased to have "Blue Seal", juried into the Annual Cooperstown Art Association's Regional Art Show "Essential Art". This piece won a blue ribbon at the Hagaman Art Show and is a favorite because the subject matter contains so many items of symbolic and sentimental value from the course of my life.

A Few New Pieces

Here are some new pieces I had photographed recently. The silver spoons picture (see it now under "Cooperstown X2" post above)
was very challenging and I tried to really capture all the subtle colors in my subject. Still life subjects really pop for me and I am always on alert for new ideas. These will be cropped by the mat later.

Current Exhibitions

A busy spring, but I had two pieces juried in to the Adirondack Artists' Guild 12th Annual Show - "Whistle Stop" (check it out below a ways down) and "Stop, Look, Listen" - one of my old truck series. I had 5 pieces at the annual Fulton County Art Show which closes today in Gloversville, NY. "Whistle Stop" will be on display at the LARAC Annual Members Show in the Lapham Gallery, Glens Falls, NY until June 13.

January Solo Show

I now have 28 pieces on display at the "new" Northville Library Gallery for the month of January. These include a variety of subjects from junk yard trucks to draft horses to my usual still life closeups. My most challenging piece was "Treasure Trove" and is a bouquet of silver spoons with silver cream and sugar. Here it is on my left on top. The Show will run until January 29 and the hours for viewing are: Mon., Fri., and Sat. - 9am-12; Tues. - 9 am to 8 pm; Wed. and Thurs. - 9 am to 4 pm.
